“Faith As A Grain of Mustard Seed” is a visual representation of the idea of Faith. Faith begins as a small seed, and tiny beginnings, as shown in the subtle, small mustard seed flowers in the bottom left corner. The pathway leading from the bottom right corner to the center of the piece represents our journey of faith, our journey to the tree, grown from the tiny seed. My favorite part of the painting is the small birds flocking towards the tree. We find this reference to the birds in the scripture Luke 13:19 where it says “the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it [great mustard seed tree]”. The birds can also represent us, as we journey to the tree.
